Our first step together is finding out what
you want. A handful of my clients come to me knowing exactly
what they want and even have specific goals with dates. But most
only have a vague sense of what they would like to accomplish or what
they want. And many of my clients only know what they don't want in their
lives.
In each case we first identify what is that
you want and what you're after. If you only know what you don't
want, we start there. We identify what you "don't"
want, and then use that to find out what you "do"
want.
Knowing what you are after helps to keep us
focused, and we also know when we're getting closer to the goal, or
not.
Keeping
on Target: Action & Support
Part of coaching is helping you to break down
large goals into manageable tasks. Together we find a pace that
suits you and that keeps you on target with the results you want in
your life.
When you keep working towards your goals
(Action), even in minor steps, you're bound to achieve them.
And when you find that you don't take action,
together we examine what's underneath the Procrastination. This
is when we Get Real, together.
Overcoming
Procrastination
ANY time that we procrastinate, there is always
an underlying issue that can be simply summarized.
"Doing this task
would cause more pain than not doing it."
When procrastination gets in the way of
action, we use a combination of very empowering methods
and techniques to
remove the pain associated with the task.
By removing the "pain" associated
the action or task to be done, you will find yourself
easily moving towards your goals.
Moving Past Fear of Success & Fear of Failure
To some extent, we all have fears. Fear
of success and fear of failure seem to be very popular when it comes
to goal setting and the desire to starting moving towards those
desires.
Often when starting to work with a new client
I ask them to rank their Belief Level on a scale of 0-10, with 0 being
No Belief and 10 being Definite Knowing that the goal can, and will, be
met.
I then ask them to rank their Deserving Level
on a scale of 0-10, with 0 being "I don't feel that I deserve
this" and 10 being "I definitely deserve to have this."
Very often people are surprised at the low
levels of initial Belief and Deserving, when they are honest about the
answers. We then address concerns, which most often come back to
fear of success and failure.
By using a combination of empowering methods
and techniques, we are
very often able to raise the levels of Belief and Deserving to a level
of 10 within a single session. This new belief and feelings of
deserving free you to being able to take Action towards your goals and
desires, painlessly and easily.
